Senior Tester

Overview

The Senior Tester is a critical role within the software development and quality assurance team. This position is responsible for ensuring that software products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality before they are released to end-users. The Senior Tester applies advanced testing methodologies and brings extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

2. Test Planning and Strategy:

4. Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and testing strategies for new and existing software features.
5. Collaborate with product managers and developers to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

7. Test Execution and Analysis:

9. Conduct both manual and automated testing to evaluate software performance, reliability, and usability.
10. Analyze and document defects and issues, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvements.

12. Automation and Tools:

14. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency.
15. Evaluate and recommend new testing tools and technologies to improve the testing process.

17. Collaboration and Communication:

19. Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth testing and product release cycles.
20. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior testers and QA team members.

25. Participate in retrospectives and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

2. Education:

4. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

6. Experience:
7. 
   
8. 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
9. Proven experience with both manual and automated testing tools and methodologies.
10. 
    
11. Skills:

13. Proficiency in testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, and TestRail.
14. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
15. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
16. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.

18. Certifications:

20. ISTQB Certified Tester or similar certification is preferred.
